These Faith Formation programs at St. Michael's seeks to meet the youth's desperate need for both religious education AND relationships. We do this through Discipleship Groups. The title comes from the goal, to transform our youth into disciples of Jesus Christ. This program, which is not only working in parishes across the nation, but has worked since Jesus Christ used it, breaks the youth smaller groups divided by gender and grade. The goal is to have Discipleship Leaders wherein the youth will have a devoted, caring, very well educated (Jake Nelson) leader who is available to them and willing to reach into their lives and plant Jesus Christ there.

That is what we are seeking to do with the Discipleship Groups program. I ask you only this: trust. Trust we have our youth’s best intentions prayerfully in mind. Trust that we take our positions very, very seriously, as YM/DRE and Discipleship Leaders (DL's). Trust that God loves your youth more than any of us do and has them in mind each moment. Finally, trust that “he who began a good work in [your youth] will be faithful to complete it.” (Philippians 1:6)
We are looking for people who are available to commit themselves to a discipleship group, hungry to grow spiritually, and teachable (not necessarily knowledgeable, rather willing to learn). The commitment includes Sunday evenings during the school year, two additional DL training meetings for formation a month, and willingness to pray for your youth daily.
